Xeno-Zapper and Xeno-Basher melee weapons, the Rebar Gun and its four ammo types, the Rifle and its three ammo types, and the Nobelisk Detonator with all six nobelisks – damage, unlocks and tactics.

Every pioneer weapon is made at the **Equipment Workshop** and unlocked through a HUB milestone or a MAM research tree. Damage numbers below follow the game's "Combat" reference; a few weapon pages in the game show slightly different figures for the same hit (for example Iron Rebar 13 instead of 15, or Nuke Nobelisk ≤ 200 instead of 150) – both exist in the source material and it is unclear which one is currently accurate, so treat single-digit differences as approximate. For creature HP to compare against, see [Combat & respawn](/wiki/creatures/combat).

## Melee

| Weapon | Damage | Range | Unlock |
|---|---|---|---|
| :icon[BP_EquipmentDescriptorShockShank_C] [Xeno-Zapper](/wiki/items/xeno-zapper) | 5 | 4 m | Starting equipment |
| :icon[BP_EquipmentDescriptorStunSpear_C] [Xeno-Basher](/wiki/items/xeno-basher) | 9 (hits several small targets at once) | 5 m | Tier 3 – Enhanced Asset Security |

The Xeno-Zapper is the pioneer's first weapon; double-clicking swings twice in quick succession and reliably interrupts a charging Hog. The Xeno-Basher's wider swing can hit multiple Flying Crabs and staggers Hogs on every hit.

## Rebar Gun

The [Rebar Gun](/wiki/items/rebar-gun) fires one shot at a time (magazine of 1, 0.357 shots/s, 1.8 s reload) with a projectile that flies for up to 10 seconds rather than hitting instantly; keeping several loaded guns in the hotbar lets you switch between them for faster follow-up shots. It unlocks in the MAM's Alien Megafauna tree.

| Ammo | Damage | Type | Unlock |
|---|---|---|---|
| :icon[Desc_SpikedRebar_C] [Iron Rebar](/wiki/items/iron-rebar) | 15 | Projectile | Comes with the Rebar Gun |
| :icon[Desc_Rebar_Stunshot_C] [Stun Rebar](/wiki/items/stun-rebar) | 5 + 5 s stun | Projectile | MAM Caterium |
| :icon[Desc_Rebar_Spreadshot_C] [Shatter Rebar](/wiki/items/shatter-rebar) | 15 × 2 (spread) | Hitscan, 50 m | MAM Quartz |
| :icon[Desc_Rebar_Explosive_C] [Explosive Rebar](/wiki/items/explosive-rebar) | 50 (explosion, 5 m radius) | Projectile | MAM Sulfur |

Explosive Rebar destroys Cracked Boulders, Spore Flowers and Gas Pillars just like a Nobelisk. A common tactic against tougher Hogs is Stun Rebar to lock the target down, followed by two melee hits, reload, and repeat.

## Rifle

The [Rifle](/wiki/items/rifle) has 100 m range, a 3.2 s reload and fires full- or semi-automatic; holding the ammo-select key switches between loaded types. It unlocks in the MAM's Sulfur tree.

| Ammo | Damage/shot | Magazine | Rate of fire | Type | Unlock |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| :icon[Desc_CartridgeStandard_C] [Rifle Ammo](/wiki/items/rifle-ammo) | 5 | 15 | 5/s | Hitscan | Comes with the Rifle |
| :icon[Desc_CartridgeSmartProjectile_C] [Homing Rifle Ammo](/wiki/items/homing-rifle-ammo) | 3 | 20 | 8.3/s | Homing projectile, 106 m | MAM Caterium |
| :icon[Desc_CartridgeChaos_C] [Turbo Rifle Ammo](/wiki/items/turbo-rifle-ammo) | 4 | 75 | accelerates 2.5 → 17.5/s | Hitscan, spreads | MAM Sulfur |

A full magazine of standard Rifle Ammo (75 damage) does not kill a Cliff Hog (90 HP) on its own; a full Turbo Rifle Ammo magazine (up to 300 damage) kills every creature except Spore Flowers and Gas Pillars, which ignore weapon damage entirely.

## Nobelisk Detonator

The [Nobelisk Detonator](/wiki/items/nobelisk-detonator) throws nobelisks (hold to throw further) that stick to almost any surface, including creatures and vehicles; any number can be placed before a single detonator press sets all of them off in a chain. It unlocks in the MAM's Sulfur tree.

| Nobelisk | Damage | Radius | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| :icon[Desc_NobeliskExplosive_C] [Nobelisk](/wiki/items/nobelisk) | 50 | 7.5 m | Destroys boulders, Spore Flowers, Gas Pillars and flora |
| :icon[Desc_NobeliskGas_C] [Gas Nobelisk](/wiki/items/gas-nobelisk) | 5 poison/s for 30 s | 15 m | Kills Flying Crabs; Stingers are immune |
| :icon[Desc_NobeliskShockwave_C] [Pulse Nobelisk](/wiki/items/pulse-nobelisk) | 5 + strong knockback | 10 m | Throws creatures and the player (usable as a jetpack-style boost) |
| :icon[Desc_NobeliskCluster_C] [Cluster Nobelisk](/wiki/items/cluster-nobelisk) | 50 + 5 × 25 secondary hits | 5 m | Clears an area rather than a single target |
| :icon[Desc_NobeliskNuke_C] [Nuke Nobelisk](/wiki/items/nuke-nobelisk) | 150 + 30 s radiation | 25 m | Lethal to the player at close range |

At least three Nobelisk explosions are needed to kill a full-health (100 HP) player, since damage falls off with distance from the blast. Nobelisks placed but not detonated before you save go off automatically when the save is reloaded, so don't leave a live one sitting next to something you care about.

Ammunition and nobelisks can also be bought with FICSIT Coupons at the [AWESOME Shop](/guides/awesome-shop) once their MAM research is unlocked.
