Power Slugs are glowing creatures that sit on rocks, cliffs, in caves and on Gas Pillars. Picking one up gives an item that a Constructor turns into
Power Shards – the resource that unlocks overclocking above 100 %. They do not respawn; tamed Lizard Doggos occasionally find one.
Counts and yield
| Slug | Item | On the map (Patch 1.0) | Power Shards each | Constructor recipe |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| :icon[Desc_Crystal_C | 28] Blue Power Slug | Blue Power Slug | 596 | 1 |
| :icon[Desc_Crystal_mk2_C | 28] Yellow Power Slug | Yellow Power Slug | 389 | 2 |
| :icon[Desc_Crystal_mk3_C | 28] Purple Power Slug | Purple Power Slug | 257 | 5 |
| Total | 1 242 slugs | 2 650 Shards (5 300 with a Somersloop in the Constructor) |
- 3 slugs are unreachable: 1 blue underground in the Rocky Desert (cm coordinates −169150, 86, 400) and 2 yellow inside Gas Pillars in Lake Forest (65494, −2077, 13600) and Desert Canyons (−11592, −149477, 12200).
- 1 slug of every colour is consumed by the MAM research; the wiki estimates about 10 Power Shards go into MAM research costs in total (unverified).
- Slugs cannot be sunk in the AWESOME Sink (0 points, they block the input).
Finding them
- Scanner mode Slug Scanning in the MAM tree Power Slugs adds them to the Object Scanner (radius 250 m). A Radar Tower lists how many slugs, sloops, spheres and hard drives are within its 1 km radius.
- Highest density: Spire Coast. Yellow and purple slugs sit mostly on cliffs, in caves and on top of Gas Pillars – bring a Jetpack or Hoverpack. Many are guarded by Hogs, Hatchers or Spore Flowers, or sit under a Cracked Boulder.
- Every slug of this planner's world data is drawn on the map – switch on the Power Slug Mk1/Mk2/Mk3 layers under Collectibles.

Unlimited shards
Once the slugs are used up, the
Quantum Encoder makes Synthetic Power Shards: 2 Time Crystal + 2 Dark Matter Crystal + 12 Quartz Crystal + 12 m³ Excited Photonic Matter → 1 Shard per 12 s (5/min), 0–2 000 MW. The AWESOME Shop also sells a Synthetic Power Shard for 10 Coupons.
Other uses of shards: Ionized Fuel (1 Shard per 24 s = 2.5/min per Refinery) and the Alien Power Matrix research (100 Shards).
