About the planner

What the production planner does, how it fits together with the map and worlds, and where to find the full walkthrough while this category grows.

The planner is SatisfactoryBase's production calculator: point it at a target output and it works out recipes, machine counts, clock speeds and power draw for you, or hand it a graph you've wired up yourself and let it balance and check that instead. It shares its underlying data with the rest of the wiki, so every rate, recipe and building it uses is the same one documented under Items, Recipes and Buildings.

How it fits together

A factory you plan doesn't live in isolation. On the map, resource nodes can be linked straight into a factory's inputs, and factories can be linked to each other so that one factory's output feeds another's input across the world. Inside a signed-in world, all of this – factories, their links, the map layout and the world's own resource-node seed – is saved and can be revisited or shared; without an account it stays in your browser for the current session.

This category

This is where planner-specific guides will live: how to read the solver's result, how to wire up a graph by hand, how map links and node settings work, and how sharing and accounts affect what gets saved. The planner's interface is being reworked, so for now the full walkthrough of what it can do today lives in one place – Using SatisfactoryBase – and this category will split into focused articles once the new interface settles. If you haven't used the planner yet, Quick start with SatisfactoryBase is the shorter, five-minute version.
