AWESOME Sink & coupons

How sink points turn into FICSIT Coupons – the coupon cost curve, what cannot be sunk, the Alien DNA counter and where to get the best points.

Version check pending: The coupon cost curve, Alien DNA rules and special shop triggers require current-version confirmation.

The AWESOME Sink (Tier 2 – Resource Sink Bonus Program, 30 MW) destroys items from one belt input (max. 1 200/min with a Mk.6 belt; 16 × 13 × 24 m; no overclock) and converts their sink points into FICSIT Coupons that the AWESOME Shop (same milestone, 0 MW) accepts as currency. Every item's points are listed on its item page; the Items list can be sorted by sink points.

Coupon cost curve

  • Coupons 1–3 cost 500 points each.
  • From coupon 4: points(n) = 250 × (⌈n/3⌉ − 1)² + 1000, i.e. group n (coupons 3n+1 … 3n+3) costs 250n² + 1000 each; cumulative 250n³ + 375n² + 3125n + 1500.
  • Examples: coupons 4–6 = 1 250 each, 7–9 = 2 000, 10–12 = 3 250 (cumulative 21 000), 88–90 = 211 250 (cumulative 6 504 750), 997–999 = 27 557 000 (cumulative 9.19 billion). From coupon 2 998 the price stays constant at 249 501 250 points.
  • All one-time shop offers together cost 347 Coupons (wiki); all non-producible offers together 1 895 Coupons ≈ 125.7 billion points (wiki, 1.0). The full catalogue of 173 offers sums to 2 286 Coupons including repeatable purchases.

Alien DNA counter

Alien DNA Capsules (from Alien Protein) run through a separate counter: 1 000 points per capsule, coupon cost 1000 × ⌈n/3⌉, cumulative 1500n² + 1500n per group of three – far cheaper than item points. Neither remains nor protein can be sunk directly.

What cannot be sunk (0 points – blocks the input)

Alien DNA Capsule (separate counter), Alien Protein, Bacon Agaric, Beryl Nut, Blue / Yellow / Purple Power Slug, Encased Plutonium Cell, FICSIT Coupon, Ficsonium, Ficsonium Fuel Rod, Hatcher / Hog / Spitter / Stinger Remains, Mercer Sphere, Non-Fissile Uranium, Paleberry, Plutonium Pellet, Plutonium Waste, Power Shard, Somersloop, Uranium Waste. Fluids can only be sunk packaged.

Points reference

Raw resources have fixed values; crafted items are roughly the weighted sum of their ingredients' points – the game data carries the final numbers. Some anchors from the 1.2 data:

Item Points
Computer 8 352
Heavy Modular Frame 10 800
Supercomputer 97 352
Turbo Motor 240 496
Nuclear Pasta 538 976
Ballistic Warp Drive 2 895 334
Portable Miner 56 (2 800 per stack)
Hoverpack 265 632

Shop triggers

  • Sinking the first coupon unlocks the Cyber Wagon and the FICSIT Checkmark.
  • Sinking the 'Employee of the Planet' Cup (after Space Elevator phase 5) unlocks the Golden Factory Cart.
  • From Tier 8 – Particle Enrichment the shop sells Hard Drives for 100 Coupons.

Rules of thumb

  • Always route surplus into the sink through the Overflow output of a Smart Splitter – never let a chain stop.
  • Sink lines are ideal candidates for a low Priority Power Switch group.
  • Best points per raw resource come from highly processed parts (Computers, Supercomputers, Heavy Modular Frames).

In the planner, the AWESOME Sink node (catalog → Organization) adds a sink that swallows any surplus of a belt (Using SatisfactoryBase).
